The RA Minister of Agriculture Received the Delegation of the Austrian Development Agency

The RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan received the delegation of the Austrian Development Agency, headed by the Organic Agriculture Support Initiative (OASI) Project Manager David Muckenhuber.
The meeting aimed to discuss current and upcoming projects implemented jointly with the Agency, particularly the Organic Agriculture Support Initiative (OASI) Project, which will be implemented with the support of the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency. The project duration is 37 months commencing in December of the current year.
“The development of organic agriculture is an important direction of our industry. We have a broad opportunity for the volume increase of exports and organic agricultural production and I am confident that this project will contribute to the quality of agricultural production and thereby the development of organic agriculture,” Sergo Karapetyan said.
Mr. Muckenhuber in turn, briefed on the content and components of the project, pointing out that the improvement of the legislation and the general public awareness on organic agriculture will be among the important components.
At the same time the Minister considered expedient, if possible, to include the issue of the exchange of experience and training of Armenian specialists engaged in the field of organic agriculture in the Project.
During the meeting the sides expressed the hope that the launching project will be effective and successful.
