The RA Minister of Agriculture visited the CARD Foundation

1The RA Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan visited the CARD Foundation. Accompanied by the director Gagik Sardaryan the Minister toured in the Foundation and observed the ongoing activities in the departments, talked to the employees and answered their questions.

 

After the tour a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and the CARD Foundation aimed at expanding the scope of joint activities in the field of agriculture with the purpose of supporting food safety and balanced development of rural areas.

 

“CARD Foundation, which has been operating for many years in our country, really carries out a lot of work for the development of agriculture. You are one of our most important partners, and I think you are the best example of public-private cooperation in this area. I am confident that this fruitful experience of our cooperation will expand and strengthen with new successful programs and initiatives”, – Sergo Karapetyan said in his speech.

 

The Minister also added that the possibilities of implementing new large-scale projects are discussed, particularly in the livestock sector aimed at increasing the productivity of animals, as well as the development of the consulting system.

 

Gagik Sardaryan in his turn, highly appreciated the current level of cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and thanked the Minister for the visit, as well as for the great support and assistance constantly provided during the work.

 

Sergo Karapetyan also met with the management staff, during which a number of issues were discussed related to surveillance and prevention of brucellosis, improvement of greenhouses and consulting system and artificial insemination.

 

After the meeting the Minister visited “GREEN DAY” organic store. It has been operating since February 2011, where Armenian, German, Austrian and French “bio” trademark products are sold.
